Winter Claire (French: Claire l'hiver) is a Canadian comedy film, directed by Sophie Bédard Marcotte and released in 2017.[1] The film stars Marcotte as Claire, a bored young woman who is struggling to motivate herself to undertake a photography project, against the context of widespread public concern about a malfunctioning cargo spaceship which Claire fears is going to crash directly into her head.[2]
The film's cast also includes Samuel Brassard, Alexa-Jeanne Dubé, Micheline Lanctôt and Alex B. Martin.
The film premiered at the 2017 Festival du nouveau cinéma,[3] before going into commercial release in March 2018.[4]
Josée Lapointe of La Presse rated the film three stars, calling it essentially a winter update of the 2014 film You're Sleeping Nicole (Tu dors Nicole).[5]
The film was a shortlisted finalist for the Prix collégial du cinéma québécois in 2019.[6]
