Yamato (山都町, Yamato-chō) is a town in Kamimashiki District, Kumamoto Prefecture, Japan. As of 31 July 2024[update], the town had an estimated population of 13,032 in 6274 households, and a population density of 24 persons per km2.[1] The total area of the town is 544.67 km2 (210.30 sq mi).
