In Greek mythology, Zelus or Zelos (/ˈziːləs/; Ancient Greek: Ζῆλος, romanized: Zêlos, lit. 'zeal') was the daimon that personifies dedication, emulation, eager rivalry, envy, jealousy, and zeal. The English word "zeal" is derived from his name.[1]
