Zhang Liyin (born February 28, 1989) is a Chinese singer and songwriter of Yi ethnicity. She has released singles in both China and South Korea, singing in both languages. Zhang became the first Chinese female to debut in South Korea with the release of her single "Timeless" in 2006, which later reached number one on music charts.[2][3] She is also the first foreign artist to win Best Newcomer award at the Mnet Asian Music Awards.[4]
