Zion is a given name and surname derived from the ancient Canaanite hill fortress in Jerusalem called the City of David.[1] It is less commonly spelled Sion,[2] Tzion, Tsion, Tsiyon, Seyon, or Tsiyyon.[3] In Hebrew Zion is one of the 70 Names of Jerusalem.
